The following items are needed for a residential sewer permit application:
A site engineering plan / topographic survey / site grading plan of the lot and proposed building. This must show the rim elevations of the upstream and downstream sanitary manholes nearest to the property and the top of foundation elevation of the proposed building.
A Plat of Survey.
A complete set of the architectural plans of the proposed building.
The application is not considered complete until all of the above items are submitted.
Review time for permits is about 15 working days. The District will mail a review letter with the permit fee amounts and appropriate documentation for execution upon completion of the plan review.
No work may be started until the District issues a permit

If an existing building is being demolished, you must obtain a sewer disconnect permit.
The following items are needed for a commercial sewer permit application:
A site improvement plan of the lot and proposed building. This must show the rim elevations of the upstream and downstream sanitary manholes nearest to the property and the top of foundation elevation of the proposed building (only for new building construction).
A Plat of Survey or topographic survey, showing the legal description of property.
A complete set of the architectural plans of the proposed building or remodeling tenant finish out plans.
Does this project require a lot consolidation by the Village? If so, the District cannot complete the permit process until plat is recorded and a copy is submitted to the District.
The application is not considered complete until all of the above items are submitted.
Review time for permits is about 15 working days. The District will mail a review letter with the permit fee amounts and appropriate documentation for execution upon completion of the plan review.

It is the responsibility of the contractor to determine the point of disconnection on the public sanitary sewer. The contractor shall televise and electronically locate the building sanitary service to the connection point to public sanitary sewer.
A video & televising report of the service locating must be submitted with this application. The application will not be processed without submittal of the video & televising report

for details. Allow 7 working days for permit processing.
All permanent disconnections must be done at the point of connection to the public sanitary sewer main.
For future reconstruction a temporary blocking of the building sanitary sewer service may be done at the property line. At reconstruction a new service must be installed, meeting all District requirements. If the existing connection location at the public main is not reused, it must be abandoned at the point of connection to the public sanitary sewer main.
All disconnections shall be done by a sewer contractor bonded with the District.
All work must be inspected by the District. Inspections shall be scheduled 24 hours in advance.
